In 2008, a few passionate World of Warcraft enthusiasts came together to create something special—a server that would stand out in the private server community of Georgia. At the time, Blizzard was running The Burning Crusade expansion, and while our aim was to capture that beloved Blizzlike experience, we were also determined to add a twist of funserver elements that would keep players engaged and coming back for more. That was the birth of Geo Warsong.

Back then, private servers were popping up here and there in Georgia. I barely remember all the names— there was programmer, wow-georgia, wow.gol.ge, and a few others—but Geo Warsong (wow.ge, geowarsong.ge) quickly became an iconic name. It wasn’t just another server; it became a gathering place for experienced PvE and PvP players, not only from Georgia but also from Europe. Players who were tired of the grind on official servers sought something different, something more personal, and they found it with us.

At the time, we were just kids, driven by our love of the game and programming. I was only 14-15 years old, running the server from my family’s home PC, which was also the same computer I used to play. There were constant lags and ping spikes because the entire family shared the machine—yet players stuck with us. They waited through the queues, endured the disconnects, and stayed loyal because they believed in what we were creating.

Our journey took a major turn when we switched to Wrath of the Lich King. That’s when the magic really happened. We received funding and, for the first time, bought a proper server housed in the Caucasus Online Data Center. I took on the responsibility of building and maintaining everything on the server side, while my friend crafted the in-game experience—custom vendors, new game logic, and unique content. We were still kids, with little knowledge of finances or large-scale server management, but that didn't stop us. Georgia’s WoW community was small, and word of mouth was our only real advertising. In a time before social media ads, players simply talked about us, and it worked.

To set the record straight: no Georgian server ever had thousands of players. Our peak, a real accomplishment for us, was 180 real-time players—so many, in fact, that we had queues, and our infrastructure buckled under the load. Despite these limitations, Geo Warsong thrived because we stayed true to our vision. We refused to adopt a "pay-to-win" model. No one paid us for their time in the game, and we didn’t ask for money. We did it out of love for the game and the community. And that’s what kept people coming back.

Today, we’re back, older, wiser, and better equipped. We’ve learned from the past, and this time, we have the resources to offer something even greater. We know the scene is filled with massive servers like Warmane and WoW Circle, giants that dwarf us in size and scope. But what we offer is something unique—a seamless, nostalgic Blizzlike experience paired with the funserver flavor that made us stand out back then.

We’re not promising thousands of players, but we are guaranteeing one of the best experiences you’ll find. If you’re looking for a community where the focus is on the joy of the game, without the barriers of pay-to-win, then Geo Warsong is where you belong. The server may be new, but the heart and spirit behind it are timeless. Come join us, and let’s relive the magic together.
